Keeping My Stick On The Ice

I’ve always loved hockey, and I’ve been an active member of Hockey Twitter for several years, but recently I’ve taken steps into contributing more actively and producing some of my own content! I have a lot of fun watching games and discussing them with my friends, but felt drawn to start writing and creating more about something I already surround myself in. Sports and social media are natural partners (just a few reasons: community, conversation, shared joy and all manner of other emotions), and the sports media landscape is always shifting and filling with all kinds of new and exciting journalism, content, and chatter.

I was lucky enough to be a guest on the AZ Den Talk podcast, run by two awesome Coyotes fans in Liz & Sarah. They had some fun questions for me, I came as close as it’s probably possible to come to smack-talking Curtis Lazar, and good times were had by all. Here is my episode if you’d like to take a listen!

I’ve also formally joined the Good Ship High Heels High Sticks! I’ve written a few guest posts for them before, but I’m now the Fifth Beatle (as it were) and making regular video blogs. (Or to use my formal title, Head of Audio/Visual and Canadian Affairs.)

We’re calling the series High Reels High Sticks, and I’m having a lot of fun with them (and teaching myself video editing, to boot). Feedback is always welcome and appreciated – I’d love to know what you’d like to see in a vlog, and ways I can make them better!

You can find all current and future episodes on our playlist. Hopefully I’ll find some time to write a few posts as well, but Hannah, Tasha, and Jonesy are churning out great work, and Hannah and Jonesy have a podcast now as well!
